Mo Ibrahim Foundation GDAI PhD Scholarships for African Nationals at SOAS University of London | Fully Funded

As part of the Mo Ibrahim Foundation-funded Governance for Development in Africa Initiative, the Centre of African Studies offers one PhD scholarship to African nationals.

PhD studentships in the areas of state capacities, governance, and bureaucracy for development are being sought.

This could include projects aimed at better understanding the capabilities of the public sector, political settlements, state-business relations, the governance of state-owned enterprises, the governance of development policy design and implementation, and so on.

However, applications must concentrate on the public sector/state/civil service, governance, and development.

Applicants must first secure a UNCONDITIONAL OFFER for the PhD by applying directly to the SOAS Doctoral School in order to be considered for funding.

The deadline for application submission is March 31, 2023.

NOTE:  In order to be considered for funding, you must have an unconditional offer for a PhD by March 31st.
