Announcing the opening of applications for the 2023 Commonwealth Scholarships (Master's and Ph.D.). I'm eager to get to know the Commonwealth's upcoming generation of changemakers! The Commonwealth is a Fully Funded Scholarship to Finish a Master's or Ph.D. in the UK. British degree programs. This UK Scholarship is quite distinguished. The UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office is funding this scholarship (FCDO). Every year, they choose more than 200 Commonwealth participants to study in the UK. You can apply without cost.

Please read this post through to the end as I have detailed, step-by-step instructions on how to apply for the Commonwealth Master's and PhD Scholarships. Scholarships. The Commonwealth Master Scholarship has a one-year duration, whereas the Commonwealth Ph.D. Scholarship has a three-year duration. 

Please be advised that direct applications for these scholarships are not accepted by The CSC. Read it once more. You must apply through a Nominating agency in your nation because you cannot apply directly. How? We're going to let you know this.

Finances for Commonwealth Scholarships


By 2023, the UK government will have fully funded all Commonwealth Scholarships. It will pay for all costs.

  • Round-trip tickets that have been approved from your home country to the UK and back at the conclusion of your award.
  • Complete tuition fees approved.
  • monthly stipend (living allowance).
  • Where appropriate, a warm clothing allowance
  • Thesis grant to cover costs associated with writing a thesis or dissertation, as appropriate.
  • Grant for study-related travel for the purpose of paying for domestic or international travel expenses.

Eligibility requirements

  • being a citizen of, or having received refugee status from, a Commonwealth nation that qualifies, or being a British Protected Person.
  • occupy a permanent residence in a Commonwealth nation.
  • be in need of this scholarship and not be able to afford to study in the UK
  • Obtain a first degree with at least upper second class (2:1) honors by October 2023, or a second class degree along with an appropriate postgraduate certificate (often a Master's degree).
  • By the beginning of the UK academic year in September 2023, be prepared to begin your academic studies there.

The Commonwealth is made up of 54 nations from Africa, Asia, the Americas, Europe, and the Pacific. 

The nations that make up the Commonwealth are diverse; they include some of the biggest, smallest, richest, and poorest nations in the world.

Deadline


The deadline to submit a complete online application for the Commonwealth 2023 Scholarship with all required supporting materials is October 18, 2022.

How to apply (Understand it carefully)


  • Applications must be submitted online through the CSC's application platform.
  • Candidates must submit an application to both the CSC and one of the organizations listed below.  Nominating agencies will then put forward candidates to the CSC.  Direct applications for these scholarships are not accepted by the CSC.
  • Each Nominating agency has additional eligibility requirements specific to it.
  • In addition to any other applications that may be requested by the nominating agency, candidates must submit an application using the CSC's online application system.
  • By December 2022, agencies must nominate candidates to the CSC.

Added Supporting Information


Applications must have supporting materials in order to be accepted.

  • A copy of a valid passport (or national ID card) with the applicant's photo, date of birth, and country of citizenship is required as proof that the applicant is a citizen or has refugee status in one of the Commonwealth countries that is open to applicants.
  • Transcripts in full, with certified translations if not in English, detailing all higher education credentials, including current transcripts for any courses being taken.
  • at least two letters of recommendation or references on the letterhead of the institution.
